8" barrel in .44 bore percussion. Manufactured from 1863 to 1875. Standard military issue revolver that shows little to no actual use. Popular revolver of the Civil War, this is a military contract firearm. Metal has all proper inspector marks. Near mint walnut grips with perfect inspector mark on left side panel. Bore and action are like new. This revolver shows no signs of having ever been fired and still has the blue within the cylinder walls. Original nipples are perfect. Legends are perfect. Brass trigger guard has never been cleaned. The only finish wear evident on this gun is some flaking on rear grip strap, some minor storage marks and drag line on cylinder and an area on left side of barrel at breech where some corrosion formed from storage. Balance of the gun retains virtually all of the brilliant high polish factory blue finish. This was part of a collection of Civil War handguns that have sat in a bank vault since the 1960s. A superior condition, never fired Civil War martial revolver with just the aforementioned finish flaws from storage.
