Caliber 9mm, Barrel length is 6-1/2”. Work began on this scarce pistol in 1900 and was tested in 1904. This is a type 1910 with the checkered wood grips. Other features include blued finish, semi -automatic, magazine fed. This nearly identical pistol can be found on page 536-Figure 13-2 in the book “Hand Guns Of The World.” This model went into production in 1913. According to the book this example was manufactured in 1919, the last year of production. From 1913 to 1915 only 960 revolvers were manufactured. In all a total of 14,138 were manufactured. This pistol was replaced by the Astro Model 400/1921. The cartridge for the 9 mm largo. All but 1,000 of these pistols were sold to the Spanish army. Rarely seen today in any condition. This example still retains approximately 85% of its original dull military finish. Was manufactured in Guernica, Spain. Top of slide is stamped “Campo-Giro Pat. 34798-54214 1904-1913” “Star in Wreath” Esperanza Y Unceta Guernica. Left side of frame is stamped “Pista aut. a mod. 1913-16”. Comes with one original magazine. Walnut grips are very good. Strong rifling.
