This pistol is a Model AN XIII as used by the French Cavalry and Navy during the Napoleonic Wars. The lock plate is marked “Manuf. Imp. /De Charleville” ahead of the hammer. Although some of the markings on the barrel are unclear, there is a distinct “1811” mark at an angle on the left flat. Additional markings include a small script “D” on the brass barrel band and the side plate which is also marked “N-H”. The left stock flat has a circular “EF” stamp with some markings along with another clear “1811” mark and also T.RD and a P. There is a touch mark on brass trigger guard and specter mark on front grip strap. Has a metal ram -rod. All steel furniture is a dark patina. This pistol has the brass flash pan. There is some minor corrosion on front strap. There are a few minor worm holes. The brass furniture includes the barrel band which has an extension that connects to the side plate, the trigger guard, and butt cap. Fully operational.
