Caliber .44 percussion, Barrel length 8”. Referred to as the Remington New Model Army revolver, manufactured 1863-1875. Standard features: octagon barrel, post front sight, fixed rear, blued finish, six shot, single action with brass trigger guard and smooth walnut grips. Grips have a visible but not readable cartouche, chips at toes with four kill notches on left side. Cylinder is a mix of blue/brown patina. Front sight is replaced. Barrel retains approximately 90% of the re-applied blue finish, Action fine, strong rifle bore with minor black powder abrasions.
