This axe head measures 6 7/8’’ and 3’’ at its highest point. It is beautifully engraved in deep relief. It has a fireman motif with ladder and horn in the center of axe head. Other images of helmets, axes, fire breathing dragon. No maker marks. Nickel plated over iron. 90% of nickel remaining. No handle. This was most likely a presentation axe given to a firefighter for merit. Circa late 1900s.
