The hilt is stamped "Columbia, SC" and the blade has not been sharpened. No nicks. Has brown patina with a single fuller. Also has an aged brass hand guard, handle is leather wrapped with braid, iron scabbard that is a dark brown patina with two rings. The blade measures 36" and the overall length is 42". Very scarce, all original, untouched Confederate sabre. Referred to as an enlisted man's sabre. This type sword is featured Albaugh's Book and is attributed to the Palmetto Armory contract.
