Caliber 16 bore, Barrel length 35-1/2”. Offered is a best quality, London percussion double, 16 bore, shotgun manufactured in London by Ann Patrick. Her father, Jeremiah, was a renowned gun maker from 1795-1814 and her brother Edward from 1815-1820. Ann took over the operation in 1820. The barrels exhibit the Damascus twist pattern with the solid rib that is inlaid “Patrick Liverpool”. The tang, side plates, hammers, barrel breech are all superbly engraved with the fish-head motif on hammers. The butt plate and ornate trigger guard are made of sterling silver and are hallmarked with lovely engraving on guard and surrounding the plate screws. The ram rod is retained by two silver thimbles. The rod has a silver tip. The for-end finial is silver and there is a double set of escutcheons and barrel wedges. The one piece stock features wide checkering with a wonderful piano finish and a silver ID plaque. Double triggers, original nipples. Fine working condition. Barrels are dark chocolate patina. Bores are very good with minor residue.
