The lady is highly carved with scrimshaw of birds. She is missing her left index finger and the head of the bird on her hair. Nice scrimshaw work and signed on the bottom. The male figure has a chip on his hat and a missing piece on the top of his hat. He is nicely carved and has quality scrimshaw work. He is also signed on the bottom. There is a yellowish cast to the backs of the figures, probably where the light affected them but also giving them some age.
