Caliber .32 rim fire, Barrel length 6". Pistols were manufactured early to mid 1860's. This pistol is referred to as the flush fitted recoil shield aka small frame type. Approximately 800 manufactured. This example has the very rare 6" full octagon barrel. This presentation quality revolver features nearly full coverage engraving. Factory gold plated with square butt and varnished walnut two piece grips. Top of barrel stamped "Bacon Mfg. Co. Norwich Conn". Grips are excellent, retaining most of the original varnish. Pistol retains approximately 95% of the original gold platting. It is a spur trigger, single shot twist barrel with a near mint rifled bore. A 6" barrel Bacon is rare enough, but this is maybe the only gold platted deluxe engraved model extant and would have been a very important presentation piece. Exquisite.
