Caliber .58 percussion, Barrel length 40". This is a standard Civil War musket manufactured at the Springfield Armory in 1863 and is referred to as a Type 1. Rifle remains in all original condition. Three split U.S. stamped barrel bands and a two blade single flip up rear sight. It is dated 1863 at breech. The lock is dated 1863 with eagle and stamped "U.S. Springfield". The bolt has the eagle. The walnut stock a visible "E.S.A." cartouche. Metal is finished in the white, has not been cleaned and is in excellent condition. Left side of the barrel has the "V.P." proof. Includes the original bayonet and ram rod. Near mint bore and a perfect action.
