Barrel length 22’’ in .30 - 40 caliber. This Krag Model 1896 carbine features the carbine stamped 1896 rear site with the two rivet short hand guard and the barrel band has the site protector. Saddle ring and bar on the left side. All metal surfaces are a grey brown patina. Receiver has the “Model” designation. Wood stocks are very good with usual dings. Cartouche on left side is no longer visible. Barely visual proof “P”. Trigger guard was cleaned to gun metal grey and bore is very good. Action fine. Springfield factory research letter confirms that this carbine, by serial number, was sold by the Raritan Arsenal in Metuchem, New Jersey, Commanding Officer on July 21, 1922 from arsenal inventory.
