Caliber .65 riffled bore, Barrel length 27-1/2”. This is a very unusual flintlock rifle. Has no visible proof marks or maker stamps. The barrel is turned from octagon to round and fitted with a bayonet lug and a very interesting bayonet measuring 8” in length. Sports a full stock that is beautifully carved and incised. The barrel is a pleasing mix of blue/brown patina. Has a unique rear sporting site (with repair). The lock has had some finish added. Stock is in beautiful condition, no cracks. Ram rod retained by two brass thimbles. Features heavy brass butt plate, decorative brass cheek piece protector, brass triggers guard, side plate and nose cap. Strong rifle bore. Sling swivel in front, missing the rear swivel. Very unusual 18th century weapon.
