Attributed to Recknagel this cute baby with molded hair and oriental features was manufactured in Germany during the earlier part of the twentieth century. Recknagel competed for market share with other well known manufacturers such as Simon & Halbig, J.D. Kestner and Armand Marseille. Nicely colored bisque(some very light peppering) and in this case the baby has blue glass sleep eyes which are original to him. The boy is dressed in a cotton colorful embroidered chemise and retains some original body finish(some aged repair/repaint to toe tips & arms).
