March 4th-5th 2016 Premier Toy Sale (06)
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/5/2016
A transitional mold jumeau with characteristics of a Long Face or an E.J.A. mold. The head is affixed to the body by the typical coil spring in her head. She is on an 8 ball jointed mkd Jumeau body(excellent original finish but wear to left thumb) & has applied ears as well! Softly colored bisque with noticeable mauve eye shadowing accenting her deep blue bulbous paperweight eyes. At one point in time she had a skin wig(only skin base left) which has been replaced by an antique hand tied dark brown human hair wig. Dressed in antique cotton print dress with matching underwear. Overall her bisque is very fine, she has a pair of “beauty marks”(black specks) on her right cheek. An aged sticker is intact(inside left sock), it appears that at a point long ago this doll was purchased in England by (Richard?) Wright and shipped to the U.S.A. by Davies/Turner. Pate and skin wig cap have not been fully removed but the head has been inspected and it appears to be free of any eye chips, hairlines, etc.
Item Dimensions: 19 - 3/4" T.
