An exceptional F.G. mannequin head mkd on rear with typical F.G. in scroll. It almost seems that these heads were more character-like and the quality appears to be much more refined thasn some of the dolls this firm produced? This head would have been attached to a mannequin body and most likely then used in a fine clothing store displaying ladies clothing. Circa 1890 – 1920 the bisque is flawless, she has blue paperweight eyes and finely detailed facial painting. Although many collectors do not appreciate these heads which the Bru firm made as well, they truly bare most unique and quite beautiful!! Certainly a collector of fashion dolls who also appreciates couture might find a place in their collection for this young lady.
