A classic toy manufactured by the infamous American toy Firm Ives Blakeslee during the latter part of the 19th Century. The black enameled cast iron shoe contains the old lady herself with many of her children seated within or tied to the side of the shoe. Often times the china/parian children perished as the child played with the toy and the “children” were no longer attached and became separated from the shoe. Many of the “children”(7) are still present but unfortunately the “Old Lady” is missing her right arm. Overall still a very charming and desirable toy appealing to toy & doll collectors alike!
