Caliber .45 ACP cartridge, Barrel length 5”. Manufactured in 1942. Offered is a standard high condition Colt Model 1911-A1. All original, with the exception of a G lettered barrel period replacement. Standard features: military phosphate finish, variation 3 square notch rear sight, checkered short trigger, checkered slide stop and safety, checkered short wide spur hammer, checkered arched main spring housing with lanyard, Keyes brown plastic grips with outer reinforcing ring, inner reinforcements with “K” within star. Left side of frame has “GHD” inspector stamp (Guy Drewry June 1942- July 1945). Top of slide has proof “P” as well as on the left side of frame. Left side of slide has patent stamps with pony in center. Right side of frame stamped United States Property” “M 1911 A1 U.S. Army”. 97% original factory war-time phosphate finish with minor high edge wear. Fine bore and action. Extremely fine condition early war Colt.
