Caliber .45 ACP, Barrel length 5”. Manufactured in 1918. Standard issue, US Colt Model 1911 semi -automatic pistol manufactured during the last year of the great war. Standard features: blued finish, small front sight, round edge square notched rear sight (replaced 3rd variation), checkered long wide spur hammer, long smooth trigger, checkered slide stop and safety, flat main spring housing with lanyard, two tone magazine with lanyard, Colt inspected eagle head “S16”, left side of frame stamped “United States Property” with Augusta Arsenal “A.A.” (rebuilt stamp), diamond checkered walnut grips. Slide was manufactured by Savage who did not make any complete guns (slides only). Left side of slide has the Colt patent with Savage logo in a circle. Right side is stamped “Model of 1911, US Army”. As to condition: slide is a soft brown patina with some light salt and pepper finish, frame is a dull military phosphate, barrel is later replacement. Fine bore and action. Pistol comes with a Boyt 1918 holster.
