3054073 Caliber .30-06, Barrel length 24”. Offered is a standard Remington Model 1903 US bolt action Springfield rifle. A number of early production Remington Model 1903 were slated for delivery to Great Britain but because many were on ships sunk by U-boats on their way to delivery, these early Remington Len-Lease models are somewhat scarce. According to Campbell, this rifle was man between March and April of 1942. Barrel is stamped “RA” with ordinance bomb and dated “2-42” The bridge is stamped “US Remington Model 1903” The left side of sight sleeve and frame have all the usual BMP British stamps. Bolt is stamped, otherwise typical US with the sight groove walnut hand guard, all milled parts, 2700 yard rear sight, swept bolt, two bolt walnut stock without hand grooves. Stock is excellent with no cracks. Block letter proof “P” and British stamp at wrist. No visible cartouche on left side. Frame retains approximately 95% of the military parkerized finish as does barrel and forend cap. Middle barrel band 50%, proper rear sight is blued. 80% finish on floor plate and trigger guard. Smooth butt plate with trap door. Perfect action. ME reading of 1 with clean bore. Excellent example of an early war US Remington that didn’t end up at the bottom of the ocean.
