This tiny Steiff Ted is 9 cm standing and 6 cm sitting. He is fully jointed and made from brass colored mohair. He has a very long and narrow torso. His limbs and feet are also long and thin, typical to early turn of last century Steiff proportions. Ted's face is detailed with tiny black bead eyes and a black hand embroidered nose and mouth. His head is slightly cocked to one side, giving him an absolutely irresistible "baby Winnie the Pooh" appearance. This pattern was made in 14 sizes ranging from 10 to 115 cm from 1905 through 1933 overall. His 4mm long trailing button, early proportions, and family provenance suggest that he was made at the very beginning of this time frame. This bear would look precious posed with a doll from the same era. Condition: As noted. Thinning mohair consistent with age and light overall playwear. With one tiny open seam (repairable with 2 stitches) on one foot. In good to very good condition overall. Provenance: From a Hudson River Valley family estate.
Item Dimensions: 4'' T.
