Cal .45 ACP, Barrel length 5”. This pistol a near mint as restored Colt Model 1911-A1, manufactured for the US Army in 1941. Every part is correct for this model and it has been restored to new, as issued, condition. Quality of the workmanship is every bit as good as when Colt originally manufactured this pistol. All legends and edges are as sharp as new. Features: p the “R. S.” in box on left side (Robert Sears 1937-1941), also stamped “R.S.” in a box inside frame. Has the proper type 2 checkered trigger, proper type 5 checkered short spur hammer, slide number is matching under plate, proper type 3 checkered safety lock, proper type 2 main spring housing, blued first variation, proper type 3 magazine catch, proper type 2 checkered slide stop, proper type 2 rear sight, featuring the U notch, flat machine top and rounded corners, proper type 4 magazine, left side has the proof “P” as does top of slide and right side of frame is stamped “United States Property M1911A1 U.S. Army” Right side of trigger guard stamped “60”, left side of trigger guard has “VP triangle with T” left side of slide has the proper patent stamp with Colt pony in center, right side is blank (proper), correct barrel stamped “Colt 45 Auto” with “P” on left lug, “G” stamped on inside of slide. Bore is mint, action is as new. Mint checkered pre -war style walnut grips with lanyard ring housing. This rare pistol looks just as it would when it left the Colt factory in 1941 just prior to our involvement in WWII.
