5” barrel in .22 LR caliber. This pistol was manufactured in 1936. Colt introduced the full size Ace M1911 A1 in 1931 and approximately 11,000 were manufactured. It is basically a full size Colt M1911 A1 Commercial with the exception that is chambered for the .22 LR cartridge and featured an adjustable rear sight and a higher front sight. Standard features include blued finish and checkered walnut grips. Has a long wide spur hammer, checkered slide and slide stop, short checkered trigger, checkered main spring housing with no lanyard. Colt Ace 22 stamped two tone magazine. Gun remains in excellent condition, retains approximately 90% high polish factory blue finish, thinning on grip straps, muzzle and high edges. Has a fine bore and action and excellent checkered pre-war walnut grips. Extremely fine example of a very desirable pistol.
