This musket began production in the 1790s and was period converted from flintlock to percussion. It is 100% all original untouched since conversion. Features a 39-1/8” barrel, smooth bore. Breech has English proof marks. Tang has unit mark 890. Has brass sideplate, trigger guard, buttplate, nose cap, and three brass trumpets. Missing sling swivels and lower buttplate screw. Early Brown Bess style rear stock. Left side of stock has “C.F.” inspector mark. Lock has “G.R.” crown and is stamped “Tower”. This is often referred to as the India-pattern Type 1 1793. All metal is a smooth brown patina. Brass has not been cleaned. Walnut stock is excellent. No cracks. Usual wear. Very fine as altered Brown Bess.
