22” barrel in .45-70 caliber. Manufactured 1886 to 1889. Offered is a standard Model 1884 Trapdoor carbine. Has the carbine stamped 1884 rear sight with the barrel band sight protecter. It is a single shot, breach loader. Barrel has VP eagle proof on left side. Standard front sight. “U.S. Springfield” on lock. No visible cartouche on stock. Barrel and frame are a smooth pleasing blue-brown patina. Block retains 80% of the re-applied finish. Walnut stocks are excellent. Top of butt plate stamped “U.S.”. Fine action. Strong near mint bore. Saddle bar and ring present. Overall clean 1884 carbine.
