5” barrel in caliber .45 ACP. Offered is a lovely, all original Colt World War II Standard pistol. Manufactured in 1943. Left slide has patent date with pony in center, has two tone appearance at 2” of muzzle caused by the hardening process, razor sharp legends and edges, proof “P” stamped on top of slide, retains 98% of the original war time phosphate finish, has standard World War II production rear sight with flat machined top - rounded corners and square notch. Left side of frame has GHD inspectors stamp (Guy Drewry June 1942 - July 1945) Stamped with the proof “P” under the magazine release. Has the verified proof on left trigger bow, right side of frame has an ordnance wheel, and is stamped “United States Property M1911A1 U.S. Army”. Frame also retains approximately 98% of original military phosphate finish with light takedown line. Has the proper short checkered trigger, checkered arch main spring housing with lanyard, short checkered wide spur hammer, checkered slide stop and safety, has a proper blued barrel stamped “P” on left lug and “H.S.” (High Standard) on right lug. Has near mint bore, proper styled blue magazine, proper Keyes style brown plastic grips with outer reinforcing ring and reinforcing bars inside stamped “1” and “8”. This fine mid-war pistol comes with the complete web/holster outfit. Holster is Sears 1942 with a canvas web belt, a canvas first aid kit and pouch and a 1918 canvas magazine pouch with two extra magazines. Wonderful high condition World War II ensemble.
