32-5/8" barrel in caliber .45-70. This is a lovely standard Model 1884 with the ramrod bayonet, standard front sight, 1884 rear sight marked "R" for rifle. Blue is a nice mix of blue and soft patina. Left side of barrel has the "VP" eagle head proof. Block is stamped "U.S. Model 1884" and retains approximately 70% case colors. Lock is stamped "U.S. Springfield" with eagle. One piece walnut stock is excellent to near mint with a razor sharp S.W.P. 1891 cartouche (Samuel Porter). Buttplate is stamped "U.S." along with unit number "11 S.C. (South Carolina) 78". Sideplate has approximately 40% finish. Action is perfect. Near mint bore. Very nice high condition Model 1884 rifle.
