24” barrel in .44 WCF caliber. Manufactured in 1886. Standard features include full octagon barrel, full magazine, correct Winchester sporting front and rear sights, walnut stocks, rifle butt, blued finish, and case colored hammer and lever. This is a standard Third Model that has seen very little use and has survived in fine all original condition. The barrel and tube retain approximately 90-93% original factory blue with razor sharp edges and legends. The nose-cap retains approximately 50% original factory blue mixed with brown patina. Left side of frame retains approximately 85% of the original factory high polish blue finish while the right side remains at approximately 70-75%. There is at least 75% original blue on base of frame, balance mixing with smooth patina. Strong case colors remain on hammer and sides of lever. Perfectly stamped brass carrier, never cleaned. Excellent original varnished walnut stocks, proud to metal, never sanded or refinished, with usual minor abrasions. Butt plate is a freckled grey-brown patina. All screw heads are perfect and un-marred. Strong clean rifled bore. Way above average high condition Model 1873 in the most popular caliber and barrel configuration.
