.38-56 WCF caliber with a 22" barrel. Manufactured in 1895. Standard Winchester Model 1886 Saddle Ring Carbine that remains in original condition. Standard features include full round barrel, full magazine, two barrel bands, carbine post front sight, carbine folding ladder rear sight, walnut stocks, and carbine butt with saddle ring and stud. Barrel and tube have turned a pleasing grey-brown patina with razor sharp legends. Front barrel band is missing the set screw. Rear barrel band screw is marred. The case colored frame has turned silvery-nickel. 30% original blue on bolt. No visible colors on hammer or lever. Original wood stocks are very good to excellent, proud to metal, with original finish, and no cracks. Missing a 1" sliver at left tang, forend has some dents and initials carved on left side. There is a light dent on the frame at loading gate. Fine action. Strong rifled bore with light black powder abrasion. Lovely all original and scarce '86 Carbine.
