30" barrel in .30-40 Krag. This is a standard U.S. issue Springfield Krag rifle. Left side of stock has a perfect "J.S.A. 1903" cartouche with script "P" in oval at wrist. Barrel is a pleasing mix and soft brown patina. Traces of blue on barrel bands. Frame and left sideplate are a soft mottled grey, as is box magazine. Has soft blue on extractor. Original walnut stock is excellent with deep, rich, dark original finish, never touched. Strong clean rifling. Perfect action. Nice, clean, honest original Krag.
