30" barrel in .30-40 Krag caliber. Left side of stock has a visible "J.S.A. 1896" cartouche with script "P" at wrist. Walnut stocks are original, good condition, with no cracks. 1901 front and rear sights. Barrel and bands are a soft brown patina. Frame, sideplate, and magazine are a blue-brown-grey mix. Fine action. Strong clean bore. Very nice all original 1896 Krag rifle.
