19.29” barrel in 7.92x57mm caliber. This rifle began life as a standard G33-40 carbine. Has the 945 code and is dated 1940 on forward bridge (the only year this code was manufactured). Waffenamt stamp on left side of barrel and receiver. Stock is numbered to the gun on right side with Nazi eagle. Left side has the sheet steel protecting plate adjoined to cupped buttplate. The bolt is No. 1606. Original stock was cut and spliced forward of the original stock bolt. Handguard and military rear sight have been removed. Lyman receiver sight has been added. A banded ramp sporting sight has replaced has original military sight, but barrel was not cut. Barrel retains 50% of the re-applied blue finish. Bottom of barrel is silver. Frame retains 95% of the reapplied blue finish. Fine action. Strong rifled bore. The buttstock is a two piece stock with the numbers on bottom section. This rifle could probably be restored by replacing the upper section of the stock at seam, changing the front sight, and replacing the military sight and forend. It could be brought back.
