Caliber .303 British with a 25-3/8" barrel. Manufactured by Savage. The left side of frame is stamped "U.S. Property", bolt is stamped "9 HSN", left side of rear barrel band is stamped "S 1942" with Ordnance bomb. Bottom of stock is stamped with a "B". No import stamps, bottom of forend is stamped "BB 15443", there is an "S" stamped at forend cap. There is an Ordnance bomb on bayonet lug, magazine is not stamped. Frame and barrel have 95% of black phosphate finish. Bottom of trigger guard is stamped "S', and bottom of forend is stamped "S". Both sling swivels are stamped, "S". Wood is very good to excellent with the few usual nicks, fine bore and action. Nice example of U.S. Property Enfield.
