The original black wool tunic with tails. Heavily embroidered in silver wire. Single breasted with 10 buttons with raised crown and fleur-de-lis. Stand-up collar embroidered en suite. Circa early 1800s, this elegant heavily embroidered fancy coat is purportedly made by the Rue Bonaparte Costumier of France, decommissioned in 1994 from the DeYoung Museum in San Francisco and originally sold at Butterfield and Butterfield. Very minor moth damage. Displays well. Most, if not all embroider work is intact.
