24" barrel in .30-06 caliber. Standard 1943 issue U.S. Springfield. The barrel is stamped "S.C. 6-43" with Ordnance bomb. Left side of stock has the "F.J.A." inspectors stamp for Frank Atwood with Ordnance wheel. Typical World War II issue features phosphate finish with stamped parts, rear bridge adjustable sight, walnut stock and hand guard with checkered trapdoor buttplate. This rifle remains in excellent, all original condition retaining 95% original metal finish. Wood stock is excellent with a fine action and clean bore with M.E. reading of 1. Has a period green canvas sling. Nice original blue on barrel bands. Trigger guard has some wear scratches from sling. Has a strong "P" in circle on wrist.
