24" barrel in 7.92x57mm caliber. This is considered a transitional model rifle of the Weimer Republic retained in 1920 by the Reichswehr, the post-war army allowed under the terms of the armistice. This rifle was manufactured at the Erfurt factory in 1919 and bears the 1920 reissue date as well. The bolt, safety, bolt release, both barrel bands, trigger guard, floorplate, bottom of stock, and buttplate have all matching serial numbers. Standard features include walnut stock, cut for a sling, ID disc, numerous proofs on stock, finger grooves, stacking swivel, front sight with ears, and military rear sight. This model is often referred to as the AZ Model. Retains a majority of the blue finish that was applied after reissue. Stock is excellent with no cracks, just the usual dings. Strong bore and action. It is getting extremely difficult to locate these early World War I models with all matching numbers.
