24" barrel in caliber .30-06. Manufactured 1944. This rifle was manufactured by Springfield December 1944-March 1945. Barrel is dated 12-44 and is stamped "1SA". Drawing number on bolt is 6528287 and stamped "IHC" (International Harvester, wrong bolt). Heat lot E24. Has a type three lock bar rear sight with square ends, cut op-red, hex bolt gas port. Left side stock cartouche is "S.A. G.A.W." (George Woody July 1943-October 1944). Serif "P" in circle on wrist. Checkered buttplate with trap. Bolt and rear sight assembly are blued. Balance of metal is a green military parkerized finish. Stock is very good to excellent with period green canvas sling. ME reading is 1 with a strong clean bore.
