40ā€ round barrel in .50 caliber percussion. Offered is a type two lock dated 1865. Breech bolt is dated 1866 with Eagle. Has the Springfield single leaf type two folding sight. Barrel and bands are finished in the white and has some aged spotting. The lock and hammer retain 70% case colors. Has the US stamped butt plate in the white. Trigger guard in the white with swing swivel. Has three bands all stamped ā€œUā€. Walnut stocks are near mint, left side has the perfect military cartouche, side plate screw still has some fire blue finish. Has a mint action. Strong rifle bore with minor black powder abrasion. This early Allen conversion appears to be in almost unused condition. Comes with an original US stamped bayonet. This is one of the finest examples we have seen.
