Often referred to as the "Old Wristbreaker" these swords are identical in design. Features iron scabbards with double rings. Both are dark patina with no apparent damage. One has the original U.S. stamped brass and leather frog. Both swords have the three prong brass handguard and pommel with leather wrap and braid. Both have the original leather washers. One is stamped "U.S. 1864" with "J.C.W." inspector stamp. the other is dated 1862 and "C.E.W." inspector stamp. Blades measure 35". Good tips. Minor age spotting. The 1864 does have some nicks to cutting edge. Fine pair of Civil War classic sabers.
