Very early sword with a curved etched blade that measures 32". Blade has single fuller, several nicks, an etching of a lion with a royal crown in banner on both the hilt and the side of the handguard. All metal construction with grooved wood handle, no wrap. Rather simple construction. Reverse side of the handguard shield has two initials that look like "G.D." but it is impossible to tell which way is up. Complete tooled and sewn leather sheath with no metal at tip or hilt. No hanger. This sword has a very Middle Eastern look about it.
