Having a straight 32" blade of diamond section. Gold-finished hilt with double clamshell guards, the one on left spring-loaded. Right guard with flag panoply in relief, surmounted with a wreath. Two riveted stars on guard. Knuckle-bow in relief, both sides showing French themes. Flowerpot-shaped pommel with leafy, ovoid finial. Wire-wrapped tortoiseshell ribbed grip. Contained in nickel-finished metal scabbard with single mount and single hanging ring. Blade showing wear and erosion of metal. Hilt with light wear. Grip showing wear and losses to tortoiseshell. Scabbard with wear and losses to finish. Minor rust deposits.
