Barrel is 7-7/8”. Bore is .69 smooth bore. Manufactured at ‘de Saint-Étienne’. This pistol is marked at the model year XIII. It is a cavalry model popular in the Napoleonic wars. Barrel is stamped RC 1811. Top is stamped “MLE AN13”. Brass for-end cap stamped “2” with “H” inspector mark. The “H” inspector mark can be found on side plate, trigger guard, grip strap and pommel. Barrel is a mix of blue-brown patina. Has a period ramrod, brass trimmings with iron hardware. All original. Excellent condition. Wood has a few minor marks and is stamped “16” on left side. Far above average example of this rare French military pistol.
