28" barrel in .45-60 caliber. Manufactured 1884. Standard Winchester big bore 1876 rifle features full octagon barrel, full magazine, sporting front sight, 1876 dated ladder rear sight, blued finish, walnut stock, rifle butt. The barrel and tube retain approximately 95% of an older expertly restored finish that retains sharp edges and legends. Frame retains like amount of finish that is thinning in the carry area forward of frame. Traces of case colors on hammer. Wood is very good to excellent, albeit a bit shy having been beautifully refinished. Brass carrier is stamped ".45-60". Strong rifled bore with usual minor black powder erosion. Left forearm has a nicely repaired hairline. Fine action. Lovely old shootable 1876.
