20" barrel in 12 bore, cylinder choke. Remington produced these semi-automatic riot guns for the U.S. military during World War II. This example is all original and remains in near new condition with all proper U.S. markings. Features blued barrel with single bead, stamped "U.S." at breach with Ordnance bomb, "Cyl" on left side of barrel. Left side of barrel at breach is stamped with the "A.M." date code with Navy anchor. The anchor stamp is not actually a Navy marking but is simply an internal factory code marking. "A" stands for March, and according to the Remington barrel date code, "M" stands for 1921, and "MM" stands for 1943, so this is probably just a stamping error. The left side of the frame is stamped "U.S." with Ordnance bomb and "Military Finish". The serial number range falls squarely between the first block of serial numbers 455-500. Left side of the stock is stamped with the Ordnance wheel and "F.J.A." cartouche for Frank J. Atwood. Receiver does not have a game scene, nor is the stock checkered. The bolt is stamped "Model 11". The entire gun, inside and out, is in near new, unused condition retaining virtually all of the original factory blue finish on metal. Near mint wood stocks has the Remington logo black composite buttplate. Mirror bore.
