An early machine manufactured by Excelsior Race Track Company of Chicago, Ill. in the early 1890s in fine working condition. Features a partial paper label on race track and a glass “cake dome” with a painted finish line flag, in all original finish. Dropping a nickel in the slot and activating the mechanism, the horses race about the track and the winner is the one closest to the white finish line flag. An early style coin cup/lock on underside was used to retrieve the coins. Included is a newspaper article picturing this machine from 1950, which goes on to talk about the piece being sold at an antique show in the Midwest. Also included is a copy of paperwork from 1890s claiming the merits of this machine and mentioning the price at that time, $12.00. Includes key.
