A very desirable cast iron trade stimulator from the early 1900s with a baseball theme. Older nickel plating that has mellowed with age the machine has its original paper reel, original cash box, replaced rear door and works well. Typically these machines had castings that were utilized on other machines as well. This example probably used tiger castings, the ball applied over the lower front casting and the large marquee type upper casting with the baseball reward card above. Companies of the time period occasionally took this route instead of going to the expense of making individualized castings for every machine that they manufactured. Regardless whether it be a Mills Umpire or the Caille Baseball these machines are infrequently available to add to one’s collection and this is a nice example. Circa 1910.
