A nicely restored, in a nickel plated finish, cast iron gambling machine by Paupa & Hochriem. This machine has a patent date of 1904, on a metal tag above the award card. The original marquee is present and the marquee card and award card are replacements. Importantly the reel bundle is in very fine condition and original. The machine is loaded with tokens. Cash box is original and the original iron back door is marked "Paupa & Hochriem Chicago". An interesting feature is that inside there are 3 metal protrusions, so if the machine were turned upside down the high value tokens would be prevented from falling out of the tubes. Included with this machine is a copy of the patent papers and a key. Circa 1906.
