20" barrel in caliber .44 rimfire. Manufactured 1870-71. Features full magazine, two barrel bands, post front sight, two leaf folding rear sight, walnut stocks, brass frame, saddle ring and stud, and carbine buttplate. The brass frame has never been cleaned. Retains its deep mustard color so desirable by collectors. Balance of metal is a dark blue-brown patina. Barrel address is readable for the most part, but faint. Forend is very good, has a 3/4" hairline crack at front, two grooves from removing rear band, and right side hairline crack to band. Buttstock is very good, shy to metal at wrist. Tang screw is marred. Stock and forend have been freshened up and lightly refinished. Action is fine. Strong visible rifling with usual black powder abrasion. Very handsome 66 carbine.
