31” barrel in .56 caliber. Manufactured. 1856-59. It is a five shot revolving cylinder percussion, with swivel on rear band with another in stock. Caliber stamped a left rear trigger bow. Has a two-leaf folding rear sight to 500 yards. Left side of frame is stamped “Colts Patent” (faint). No visible stamps on barrel. Metal is a gun metal grey-brown patina. Has a brass trigger guard. Walnut for-end is excellent with brass tip. Knurled metal cleaning rod and iron butt plate. Very good to excellent buttstock with no cracks and proud to metal. Indexes perfectly. Strong clean rifling with very minor black powder abrasion. Very scarce large caliber Colt Model 1855 full stock revolving rifle.
