24" barrel in .44-40 caliber. This is the Whitney-Kennedy lever action sporting rifle manufactured from 1879 to 1886. This is a small frame sporting rifle featuring full round barrel, full magazine, German silver blade front sight, flat top sporting rear, and walnut stocks with rifle butt. Barrel legends are sharp. This is just an honest rifle. All metal is a brown soft patina with some freckling. Walnut stocks are very good to excellent with usual dings and slightly shy at wrist and toe. Strong rifled bore with usual black powder abrasion. Fine action.
