Evans Repeating Rifle was manufactured in Mechanic Falls, Maine 1873-1879. This is a New Model carbine, approximately 4,000 manufactured from 1877-1879. Features a 22” barrel. This was the largest capacity repeater of its time with a 28 shot capacity. Carbine has a single barrel band with sling swivel in butt, walnut forend and butt stock, folding ladder rear sight, and dove tail front. Metal surfaces are a gray brown freckled patina. Walnut stocks are very good and complete, with usual bruises but not cracked. Action is fine. Strong bore with usual black powder abrasion.
